The photography contest "Let's meet Argosaronikos", co-organized by MOm and the Fotografos magazine, is extended until November 15, 2015! The prizes have been announced!!! For more information visit http://www.photo.gr/myphoto/mom/. Send us your pictures and help bring out the beauty of the landscape and how it can co-exist with human projects, the everyday relationship of humans with the sea, the biodiversity of the area, the ecological and cultural value of the gulf of Argosaronikos. The contest is organized alongside the project "the Mediterranean monk seal returns to the coasts of Argosaronikos", the principal donator of which is the STAVROS NIARCHOS FOUNDATION and its co-funder is the THALASSA foundation, and it is an initiative of MOm in cooperation with the FOTOgrafos magazine.
The birth of the first monk seal of the 2015 reproductive season is a fact. Little Yanis, as we named him, was born on May 27th in Cyclades, slightly toppling current known data, as the reproductive season start at the end of summer and climaxes around October.
Adriana seems to have done her best to survive free in her natural habitat. We should remind you that a newborn female seal was found orphaned last November, by Andreas Aggelopoulos, a Skopelos resident on a deserted beach of the island.
